In regards to a linked finding aid, that makes me think of linked data like the linkedjazz project (https://linkedjazz.org/network/). It seems like this would be an ideal way to preserve the network of videos in Off-Grid (and ergo ThruYou) without having to preserve the YouTube environment and annotations and allow for more links later. As long as you know where to find and download the sampled videos of course (maybe this could be the participatory part).
